Our Learning Today: "Today in music we played a new instrument similar to the xylophone but it is metal. Sam "In gym today we played Belly Baseball and I kept losing :( . Evelyn "In Belly Baseball I caught a ball in mid-air and Barnaby smashed it and it was a good shot and I had to run really fast. Brock "Today Mrs. Hewitt talked to us that we are going to be making a boat on our own, but a little help from our partner and I think it's going to be cool. Ava "In math, we made our own games with shapes. Lucy "In science we are going to make boats with materials that cost money. A reminder for students that this Friday is the POET-EA for MS. HEAGY'S class (Room 13). Invites went home Friday with students. Please remember to bring your Poetry Party folders back so students have a chance to rehearse during the week at school. Students have brought home their POET-EA INVITATIONS. An email has also been sent home with the dates and times for each classroom. Please make sure students record their poem so they have it at home to practice during the week, and return it on Monday (as they will get extra time in class to practice). Our Learning: Sorry busy day! For Homework: Practice Poetry, take a picture, copy or photocopy your poem so you have it at home to practice at home during the week. Important! This FRIDAY is the PoW Volunteer Tea in the morning. Some of the kids in grade two will present a poem at the tea that they have already presented in front of the class. For Homework: We were learning about Rhyming Couplets for Poetry today. Please come up with a rhyming couplet that goes with your name! Share the song, "Down by the Bay" with your parents! Our Learning: "we went outside for gym and we also earned extra minutes towards another earned gym."-Jillian "today we did our Haiku's and today we drew little trees."-Sam "in math we did some catch up"-Evelyn "In math we finished our estimation jars."-Noelle For Homework: Write a Haiku for Mrs. Hewitt (remember a Haiku is 3 lines, and 5-7-5 for syllables.) Our Learning: - Today we learned in tennis we were hitting the ball against the wall. Caden - Today in social we learned what the colors of the Acadian flag meant and what the golden star meant. We got our shoeboxes and got a sticker and drew the Acadian flag on it. Rocky - In social, it was very interesting what the Acadian flag meant and what the golden star meant. Hashim - Today in snack we were reading Kensuke's Kingdom and he fell off the boat and washed up on a beach he doesn't know. Jillian - Today in math we did some estimating and it was really cool and fun! Ava - Today we go to another chapter in Kensuke's Kingdom and we wrote about it in our sketchbook. It is a very exciting book. Sam For Homework; Talk to your parents about Kensuke's Kingdom. Who is your favorite character? Show them the pictures of our adventure maps in our sketchbooks! What a fun, beautiful day!
Our Learning: - Today we watched Bill Nye the Science Guy and his car turned into a boat! And boats float! Caden - Today in Science we went outside and tested different objects and I actually figured out that a gluestick floats and a pipe cleaner sinks. Rocky - In science today a mosquito landed in our water bucket and I wrote how we learned what floated and what sunk, I wrote "mosquito" under what floats. River - Today in gym we played tennis and I was practicing hitting it off the wall. Brock - Today in literacy we went outside and we were looking at objects for our Haiku's that we were making. I started my haiku. Cam - Today in science, we tested different stuff, what can float and what can't float. Erica - Today we drew our plants in our sketchbook and how they increased in growth since we last saw them. Sam - This Friday is no school. Javkhlan Up coming dates:
