Our Learning: - Today we learned in tennis we were hitting the ball against the wall. Caden - Today in social we learned what the colors of the Acadian flag meant and what the golden star meant. We got our shoeboxes and got a sticker and drew the Acadian flag on it. Rocky - In social, it was very interesting what the Acadian flag meant and what the golden star meant. Hashim - Today in snack we were reading Kensuke's Kingdom and he fell off the boat and washed up on a beach he doesn't know. Jillian - Today in math we did some estimating and it was really cool and fun! Ava - Today we go to another chapter in Kensuke's Kingdom and we wrote about it in our sketchbook. It is a very exciting book. Sam For Homework; Talk to your parents about Kensuke's Kingdom. Who is your favorite character? Show them the pictures of our adventure maps in our sketchbooks!

What a fun, beautiful day!
Our Learning: - Today we watched Bill Nye the Science Guy and his car turned into a boat! And boats float! Caden - Today in Science we went outside and tested different objects and I actually figured out that a gluestick floats and a pipe cleaner sinks. Rocky - In science today a mosquito landed in our water bucket and I wrote how we learned what floated and what sunk, I wrote "mosquito" under what floats. River - Today in gym we played tennis and I was practicing hitting it off the wall. Brock - Today in literacy we went outside and we were looking at objects for our Haiku's that we were making. I started my haiku. Cam - Today in science, we tested different stuff, what can float and what can't float. Erica - Today we drew our plants in our sketchbook and how they increased in growth since we last saw them. Sam - This Friday is no school. Javkhlan Up coming dates:
For Homework: - Discuss Tennis with your family. Do your parent play? Our Learning: - Today in Garage Band, I added four of the same instruments and today the Grade 6's had the PAT test. Caden - Today in powerhour we did make up and I did 4 scratches from a bear or wolf and wrote help with fake blood! Hannah - Today in powerhour I played Mrs. Hewitt in chess and I stayed in the game for a really long time and then I played Joe and got his queen out in a little more than one minute! Cameron - Today in powerhour, my skit for Rockbrain got filmed. River - In literacy, we finished stuff in our sketchbooks. Tomorrow is our FIELD TRIP to Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Field Trip The weather forecast at the moment is for rain tomorrow. We have talked about making sure we have rainboots and raincoats. There are some places we can use inside to sketch if it is raining hard. We also talked about NO UMBRELLAS as they take up lots of space while trying to walk around the park. I said that they could bring a large garbage bag and it can be turned into a raincoat easily or can be used to sit on to stay dry. FYI - There are FOUR students who have not yet handed in their field trip forms. Please return tomorrow morning. We leave on the bus at 8:30am. Poetry Party this Friday: This week is a "Re-Do" week. If you want to save the poem you took and re-do a poem that you have already done, you are welcome to. Field Trip Wednesday: Unfortunately the weather forecast doesn't look that great for Wednesday. Please come prepared with rain gear. (Rain jacket, umbrella, boots, etc.) You will also need to bring water, a lunch and a snack (waste free if possible). Thank you to Ms. Watson who was here for Ms. Heagy today. She was lovely! What a fun day! We started the morning planting with Mrs. Kim Wingert. We learned about how to plant using '3 sisters' (thanks Sam!)' where each seed helps each other. We planted with a variety of squash, peas and beans in our small containers. We will care for, and observe our seeds over the next few weeks and think about the interconnectedness of life. Poetry party was a blast! Wow! Students are REALLY stepping up their game! We saw many inventive costumes and props. Grade 2- you are impressive! Up coming dates:
